Verandah at Valley Ranch Unites for a Cure: Join Us in the LLS Light the Night Walks to Fight Blood Cancers

At Verandah at Valley Ranch, we’re excited to stand with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) in their ongoing fight against blood cancers by participating in the Light the Night walks.

This meaningful event is an opportunity for our community to come together and make a real difference in the lives of those affected by these diseases. We invite all our residents and neighbors to join us for this important cause!

What is the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS)?

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has been a leader in the fight against blood cancers for over 70 years. Since its founding in 1949, LLS has dedicated itself to advancing research, providing patient support, and advocating for policies that improve the lives of patients with leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma.

The impact of LLS’s work is felt across communities nationwide, and Verandah at Valley Ranch is proud to support their mission.

What Are Light the Night Walks?

Light the Night walks are more than just a fundraising event—they are a symbol of hope, community, and remembrance. These walks bring together thousands of people who are united by a shared goal: to find a cure for blood cancers.

During the event, participants carry illuminated lanterns—white for survivors, red for supporters, and gold in memory of loved ones—creating a powerful visual display of solidarity and support.

Why We’re Getting Involved

Participating in the Light the Night Walk is our community’s way of supporting those who have been affected by blood cancers and contributing to the search for a cure.

Making a Difference: Every step taken, and every dollar raised during the Light the Night Walk directly supports LLS’s mission to cure blood cancers. Your participation can help bring new treatments to patients and provide vital resources to families in need.

Community Connection: The Light the Night Walk is an opportunity to connect with neighbors and friends while making a positive impact. It’s a chance to come together for a cause that affects so many and to create lasting memories with those who share your commitment.

Honoring Loved Ones: The lanterns carried during the walk are a touching tribute to those who have battled blood cancers. Whether you’re walking in support of a loved one or in memory of someone lost, the event offers a moment of reflection and remembrance.

How You Can Participate

We’re calling on the Verandah at Valley Ranch community to join us in making a difference! Here’s how you can get involved:
  1. Sign Up for the Walk: Visit the Light the Night website to register for the Dallas/Fort Worth event. Whether you join our team or walk on your own, your presence is valuable.
  1. Start Fundraising: LLS provides tools and resources to help you raise funds for the cause. Set a personal goal, reach out to friends and family, and see how much you can contribute to the fight against blood cancers.
  1. Spread the Word: Help raise awareness by sharing your involvement on social media. Use #LightTheNight and tag Verandah at Valley Ranch to let others know how they can join the effort.
  1. Volunteer: Not everyone needs to walk to make an impact. Volunteers are essential to the success of the Light the Night event, helping with everything from setup to cheering on participants. Your time and effort can make a big difference.
